Will You Ever Understand Yourself?
Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770-1831) was a German idealist philosopher.
Even on his deathbed Hegel remained abstractly philosophical. "Only one man ever understood me," he remarked, with a pause, "and even he didn’t understand me."
The illusion of understanding yourself is just what it is. An illusion.
Instead of trying to understand yourself and fall into the abstractions of the mind, I believe, it is more important to understand what you want to DO in your life.
If understanding leads you to doing then it is equally true that when you don’t understand something the doing will lead you to understanding.
Go for one thing that you really really want to do.
One thing that you don’t want to die without.
One goal that you must achieve.
One dream that you must see coming true.
One hope that you turn into reality will make you far more satisfied in life than understanding yourself.
Try it.

Yeah I knew a "but" is coming.
So I just wrote the next post. 
I don't think life is about ONE goal though. It is about achieving A goal, and then making another new goal and achieving that. Our circumstances change, the people in our lives change, our priorities change and these in turn dictate our new goals and purposes that keeps us living our life and moving forward.
It will throw up a new challenge. And the world is vast with so many things to do and explore and try out 
Think about it, you get your ONE goal. And then what? Be content and happy? Life doesn't work like that
Yes you are very right Sulthana. The article is basically meant to motivate a person to create the FIRST goal. One will always move to the next worthy goal subsequently.
