How to Seduce Your Pain into Pleasure – Part 1
"Cycling is so hard, the suffering is so intense, that it’s absolutely cleansing," Lance Armstrong wrote in his autobiography It’s Not About The Bike – My Journey Back To Life.
"The pain is so deep and strong that a curtain descends over your brain… Once, someone asked me what pleasure I took in riding for so long. ‘Pleasure?’ I said. ‘I don’t understand the question.’ I didn’t do it for pleasure. I did it for pain."
We all tend to avoid pain whether it be emotional or physical but I think pain has a value and if you know how to transform the emotional negative energy generated by that pain it can help you tremendously in changing your life circumstances.
It’s all about giving a direction to your pain. The suffering you face, once channelized has the potential to not only change your immediate mood but also your life.
It does take an understanding of the human emotions though. Emotion, as I see it, is energy and energy can not be destroyed, it can only be made to change forms. The famous equation of Einstein E=mc² does apply here as well. The shift of matter into energy and energy into matter and conversion of one form of energy into another form of energy.
You can convert your anger into either determination or resentment. The choice is yours to make.
You can convert your anxiety into a drive or depression. The choice is still yours.
Sometime’s in life when the pain is more than pleasure, which usually is the case, then you need to make the shift. You can make the energy generated by your pain to change form, with conscious thinking, and create pleasure out of it.
[This post is the 1st part of this series. Here is the 2nd part on how to turn your pain into pleasure.]
SHARING IS CARING

Hi Abubakar,
This is a wonderful observation.
Pain is the best driver, it's even a better motivator than a strong desire because it feels so darn uncomfortable and we do what it takes to not be uncomfortable.. I've experienced stress recently which has only helped to drive me forward. If it can be embraced instead of avoided pain can be your best friend.
Thanks for sharing your insight,
Ryan
