Personal Development Face-off Series – Round No.9

Some funny and weird questions for Lyman and Aja to answer in this ninth round of the Personal Development Face-off Series. Have some fun reading their responses.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT FACE-OFF SERIES – ROUND NO.9
LYMAN REED Vs. AJA TRINIDAD
Layman Reed Aja Trinidad
LYMAN REED
[The Layman]
AJA TRINIDAD
[The Warrior Princess]

QUESTION NO.1 – If all the nations in the world are in debt, where did all the money go?

It all went straight into the pockets of those who practice "The Secret"!

All of the money went to Steve Jobs and his little ol’ Apple products.

By the year 2030, every nation’s government will relocate to the Apple Store, and we will hold elections via Apple iBallots.

QUESTION NO.2 – If without darkness there can be no light, then what is more important, darkness or light and why?

Neither is more important, each serves it’s own purpose.  Without light, I couldn’t see my loved ones.  Without darkness, I could never be naked… and no one wants to see “that”.

Oh no you don’t!

How can I pick one to be more important if one can’t exist without the other?

They’re both equally important. Without darkness, we couldn’t fall asleep, and without light, we couldn’t use ATM’s without fearing that we’d get robbed.

And if we couldn’t use ATM’s, we couldn’t take out money to spend on Apple products.

QUESTION NO.3 – What in human nature can make you cry and laugh at the same time?

The television show "Jersey Shore".  More crying, though…

Artistic expression.

QUESTION NO.4 – Have you felt cornered in a round room? How?

Only by a group of squares.

Well, if you must know everything about me, I’ve never even been in a round room.

I suppose I don’t get out much. But, if I were to be in a round room, I think I’d feel at peace.

There’s something very yin and yangy about circles and roundness. It represents harmony, infinity and all that goodness.

QUESTION NO.5 – Can you blow a balloon up under water?

No… the stick of dynamite would keep going out.

I couldn’t. Spongebob Squarepants can though. He can also light fires and go to the beach.

QUESTION NO.6 – When being sentenced to death, by Lethal Injection, Why do they sterilize the needle?

To protect the needle, maybe?  It didn’t do anything to anyone.

Why do we say bless you when people sneeze? Do we only deserve blessings when people sneeze, but not when they cough?

They sterilize the needle because as people, we follow habit and procedure even when it doesn’t make sense.

Perhaps there’s something inhumane about killing somebody with a dirty needle as opposed to a clean one.

QUESTION NO.7 – What do you love and hate about personal development blogs in general?

I love that (most) of them are really trying to get information out there that will help people.

Sometimes they overstep their expertise (I have), sometimes they end up spouting off information rides the line of accuracy (I have), but in general I really believe that there’s a core of wanting to do the right thing.

I hate the blogs that don’t do that. That have focused more on the business, on the numbers, than on the outreach.

Oh, wait, I’m supposed to try to be funny here…

I’ve got nothing.

I love that they exist, and I hate that there are so many of them.

It’s wonderful that people are able to share their ideas and positive thoughts, but goodness, anyone can write a blog these days!

It can take much digging to find a nice, valuable personal development blog here on the world wide web. But they do exist!

Thank you Lyman and Aja for participating in this face-off series. Your answers were fun to read.

Awesome Q&A. I needed a good laugh. It was really hard picking a winner (as it has been all along–that’s the trouble with having such good contestants). I will say that Lyman’s answer to question #5 almost made me snort tea through my nose. Thanks!

  7. Funny, fun stuff. Especially the first one. Money goes to all those who practice the secret.

Thanks again for allowing me to participate in this series, Abubakar… and thanks to Aja for being such a worthy “opponent.” I had a tough time getting the questions answered, but it was totally worth it.
