Meditation Technique to Accept your Physical Body
Meditation is the act of consciously directing your attention toward a single direction, and keeping it there for a specific period of time.
The main purpose of any meditation is to help you shut down the perpetuating subconscious mental chatter and open your mind to the immense field of possibilities always surrounding you.
I have already covered the two most common and recommended ways to meditate. You can click the links to read simple breathing meditation technique and meditation technique to balance your chakras.
In this article you will learn a specific meditation technique to send a signal to your critical mind that you accept, love, appreciate your physical body.
It might seem to be a bit out of this world, strange and probably a bit over the edge too but I suggest you give it a shot with an open heart and mind. You might actually get to like this meditation technique after experiencing its results firsthand.
What spirit is so empty and blind, that it cannot recognize the fact that the foot is more noble than the shoe, and skin more beautiful than the garment with which it is clothed?

Meditation Technique – Accepting Your Physical body
This meditation technique requires you to be alone and naked. It is basically about accepting your physical side.
You need to be in a dark or semi-lit room to do this meditation. You can do it in any posture of your choice. You can sit, lie down or stand as you like. Just be comfortable.
Take a few deep breaths and once you are centered bring your hands in front of you, palm facing upwards and focus all your attention on your palms.
Imagine a rosy pink, soft and dreamy light being absorbed by your palms. The source of the light is the feeling of love and acceptance.
As you become aware of the rosy pink light filling up every atom of your hands imagine your hands to be so dissolved in that light so much so that they themselves become an extension of that light, glowing in a rosy pink hue, they become the physical manifestation of acceptance and love.
Your hands may literally warm up at this moment and you may start feeling a certain lightness in them. Lightness as in weightlessness and also as in brightness. You may also experience a certain warm tingling on your palms.
Now close your eyes and gently touch your face with those hands of light. Feel every contour and feature of your face.
Focus all your attention on this feeling of touching your face and caressing it. As you touch your face, the light in your hands lights up your face. Accepting it as it is and loving it as it is.
Let go of all your insecurities about not having the right eyebrow or Angelina Jolie’s lips or whatever you think you lack.
There is no lack. What you think you lack is just a perception, which you have been fed continuously by the cosmetic industry. Let go of that. It’s just an illusion. You are beautiful as you are. Accept yourself and love yourself.
Now moving gently down, feel your neck, your shoulders and similarly touch those hands of light all over your body, all the way down to your feet.
Rest them wherever you like for as much time as you like. Feel the completeness of your body. Acknowledge it. Be grateful for it. Wonder about its amazing chemistry and mind-boggling healing power.
Feel your heat beating inside your chest. Feel your breath nourishing it. Feel your cells keeping it together. Feel your connection with it. Feel the temple in which your soul resides.
It’s an amazing feeling to actually acknowledge your body consciously. In acknowledging it, you don’t think in terms of what it looks like, but rather what it feels like.
You signal acceptance and love to your body at a cellular level and your cells literally feel that. They respond with love and acceptance too. They heal and nourish and grow themselves.
I can talk about it on and on and on, but none of that will be worth anything compared to your experience of it. So go for it and experience it yourself. By the time you end this meditation your whole being will be glowing in the light of acceptance and love.
SHARING IS CARING

Hi Sunny,
This is unusual indeed! But I can see its value and simplicity, and I love the concept of using your hands to accept your whole body. I’ll try it sometime when the conditions are right.
Body awareness meditation techniques can be very healing physically, especially when we add in the element of a loving energy. Buddhists also practice loving kindness meditation which also involves sending love and compassion to each part of the body.
Hi Sunny
I can see how this meditation can help us to learn to be comfortable in our own skin, and then learn to accept ourself totally. This Meditation is new to me, I have never heard of it.
