18 Truths about Life You Must Know without Having a Heart Attack
On 3rd Apr 2009, at about 4:30 PM, I experienced an angina attack for the first time in my life. The hours and hours of incessant and agonizing chest pain, left my body lifeless and my mind thrown off balance.
Angiography revealed that two arteries in my heart have clots in them. The blockage was preventing the natural flow of oxygen-filled blood into my heart. The heart went into overdrive. The blood pressure shot up to dangerous levels. And the “so smooth” world of mine, was shattered to pieces.
My understanding of life deepened as the pain gradually left me alone, and in the dark moments of the night, lying alone in the hospital bed, I thought of many things. I promised myself that when I’ll get back home and I am able to type, however painfully, I’ll share those realizations with you, because I must. That is my purpose, to realize more about life and to share it.
18 Truths about Life
1. You can really die at any moment. There are no guarantees in life.
2. In your darkest moments, the only people you’ll want around yourself, will be the ones you love and who love you, without any conditions.
3. Your career, money and status are not worth a dime. At the end of it all, all you seek is love and forgiveness.
4. No matter how lonely you might feel, in the heart of your heart, you know that there is someone watching over you, all the time.
5. 99% of the things you worry so much about, on daily basis, don’t really matter in the big picture.
6. Your life is the collection of memories you leave in the consciousness of the people you interact with, and you want those memories to be happy memories, spreading hope and love.
7. There are no strangers in life. The person you think of as a stranger might be the one who comfort you the most, when you need it the most.
8. You do not tell people who love you that how much they really mean to you, enough times.
9. You take too much for granted and you are mostly ungrateful.
10. You do not really comprehend that every breath you take is something awesome.
11. No matter how much you have, you’ll always want more.
12. No matter how little you have, you always have enough.
13. You mostly misjudge the real priorities of your life.
14. You don’t really understand that nothing lasts forever.
15. You are always creating and affecting life around you, even when you lying on your death bed.
16. Choice is always there and you are free to choose even in your last moment.
17. Your most intangible belongings are your most worthy possessions.
18. The only purpose of your life is to serve others, willingly and with love, in your own unique way.
There you are with 18 insights that I promised myself that I’ll share with you as soon as possible.
