How to Balance your Chakras
Click here for an introduction of chakras first if you haven’t read it before.
I tend to think of chakras as gears. Each chakra has its own importance and value, which you can not ignore.
Can you imagine a car without a 1st or 3rd gear? No, you can not. You have to have a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear. They function when they are needed to speed up the car. They are all independent as well as interconnected.
Similarly, starting from your first chakra, each top level chakra puts you into the next gear, and thus allows you to speed up gradually towards the destination (complete alignment with The Source) on this road of spiritual journey, called life.
The combined energy of the 7 basic chakras forms your aura or auric field. Some teachers call it the eight chakra too.
Your aura represents you as an energetic being. Think of your aura as your energy signature, unique only to you.
Now, that science is finally catching up with the ancient visionaries, you know that the matter with all the matter is, that there is actually no matter.
What we call matter is simply the physical manifestation of energy and it has long been proven that matter and energy are interchangeable.
So nothing is destructible. Matter becomes energy and energy transforms itself into matter, as the conditions dictate. Similarly you will see physical changes in your body when something in your energetic body (aura) changes and vice versa.
Why should you balance your chakras?
The answer is very simple. Where would you be without the balance? Your physical body has already learnt the importance of balancing itself – to move around and act more effectively in and with the world around you.
Similarly your energy body learnt that too but you haven’t learnt how to deliberately keep it in balance when it goes out of balance.
Some of your chakras maybe over-active and some of them maybe blocked or under-active. Here is a free online tool to test your chakras (their current status). It may not be 100% accurate but it still it gives you a pretty good basic idea.
Your energy body is directly influenced by your consistent thought patterns, just like your physical body is directly affected by your diet.
Your thoughts and the resulting emotions are the diet of your energy body. Once you get it, it starts making sense.
If you consistently think sad thoughts, the first effect is on your energy body. Your aura reflects sadness, and with time the effects are seen in your physical body as well, in the form of different diseases or mental health problems.
Is it hard to understand that if you will keep on eating junk food, eventually your body will reflect that choice? Just like that, if you will keep on thinking disempowering thoughts they will affect your auric field and then subsequently your physical body.
Here is an easy way to really understand this. Imagine yourself stepping into a room. There are 10 people sitting inside that room, all strangers to you. All of those people are really depressed and thinking really sad thoughts. You don’t speak with anyone. No one speaks to you. No one even looks at you or notices you. Tell me, that without interacting in any way with those sad, depressed people, would you be able to feel and tell that the energy inside that room is sad and depressing?
Now change that picture and imagine yourself in a room occupied by 10 happy and excited people. Would you be able to feel that energy pattern without speaking a single word? I bet you would.
There has been no verbal communication at all and yet you could distinctly feel the energy patterns inside that room. How did you do that? You did that by decoding their combined auric field.
Let me tell you that even if you are blind folded, you will still be able to distinguish between happy and sad energy patterns, accurately.
Simply because the aura can not be blind folded. It has its own language. It communicates energetically, above and beyond your 5 senses. You can shut down all your senses and still you can communicate with your energy patterns easily.
How to balance your chakras
Before we get to the actual technique here are some prerequisites of meditation you should know about.
The technique to balance your chakras is simple. It’s like taking a color bath. Just sit down, calm your nerves, take a few deep breaths and find your center. Then starting from your first chakra at the base of your spine imagine a red spinning vortex of energy.
In their natural state, if the motion of your chakras is clockwise, they are bringing the energy in and if they are rotating counter-clockwise they are giving the energy out.
For example look at this picture of the spinning heart chakra for a better understanding of the concept.
What you want to do is, bring the energy in. Now, keeping your attention focused on your chakra at the base of your spine, spin that vortex of red energy in a clockwise motion.
The color is red so think RED. Bright and vibrant red. Spin it in full circles for 11 times and then spin it counter-clockwise for 11 times.
You can change the 11 to whatever you like though. It’s my own observation that 11 is related to spirituality in a mysterious way and thus I use it personally. But still, it’s just a preference and you can change it to whatever you prefer.
Now once one set is complete (11 rotations clockwise and 11 rotations counter-clockwise), shift your awareness to the next chakra and do the same till you reach your crown chakra, at the top of your head.
The natural chakra positions and their respective colors can be seen in the following figure.

To help yourself focus better, you can also choose to place your hand or finger on the physical location of the chakras.
Chakras extend about four inches in all directions from their point of origin. When they are awakened, they extend further and their color becomes more clear, bright and vibrant.
Once you reach your crown chakra, imagine a bright white or violet light falling on the top of your head. The source of that light is The Source. The Divine. The God. The Mindfield. The Divine Matrix. Call it whatever you prefer.
Imagine that vibrant, joyful, pure white light gradually filling you up from top to the bottom, till every atom of your existence is merged with its Joy, its Brilliance, its Peace, its Serenity, its Completeness and its Unconditional Love.
It’s very difficult for me to explain the feeling in words. I feel this is where pure experience is the only knowing.
Language is, has been, and will be a poor medium for describing such magnificence. You have to experience it yourself and only then you will know what I am talking about.
Just writing about it fills my heart with a certain unexplainable warmth. I feel the connection already, and I really hope that some little part of this warmth has spilled itself over, and has been absorbed by these words, to reach your heart.
I invite you to shift into the 1st gear now and take a cruise. There are no speed limits. Use this meditation technique to balance your chakras and when you will come out of it notice how you feel.
A certain joyful warmth and a relaxed mind and body are the immediate benefits of this powerful visualization/meditation.
Do it as often as you like, especially when you are feeling out of sorts. Early dawn is the best time to do it, as in those moments, when the Earth is waking up, its easier to make a connection. The roads are clear, no rush hour traffic. Happy journey.
SHARING IS CARING

Hi Sunny,
I’ve read about chakra meditation but this is so far the clearest and best explanation I’ve heard. I’m also reading more and more about auras and energy signatures. Very interesting and well written post!
I have to agree with Daphne, you explained this very well, and I’m not actually that familiar with the topic.
Keep up the good work Sunny!
Cheers,
Glen
Hi Sunny
Great job on explaining auric field with the experiment with the room of people. Yes, I totally agree with you that we can feel the aura of happy vs sad.
Thank you.
